Who is Matt Darey Anyway?
Matthew Jonathan Darey, born on November 29, 1968, in Leicester, England, is an English trance music producer and performer. He has sold over two million albums and singles, achieving numerous top 40 chart hits. Darey gained prominence with his work under the alias Lost Tribe, notably the 1999 single “Gamemaster,” which reached number 24 on the UK Singles Chart.
Beyond his production work, Darey launched the radio show “Nocturnal” in 2005, which became a weekly program the following year. His 2007 single “Beautiful Day” achieved success on Billboard’s dance charts in the United States. In 2015, he adopted the stage name Matt Nouveau to reflect a shift in musical direction.
Darey continues to influence the electronic music scene through his label, Darey Products, and his monthly radio show on Digitally Imported’s European Trance station.
