Who is Aly Fila Anyway?
This Egyptian duo Aly & Fila, comprising Aly El Sayed Amr Fathalah (Aly) and Fadi Wassef Naguib (Fila), have been at the forefront of the trance scene since the early 2000s. Their journey began in 1999, inspired by legends like Paul van Dyk and Chicane, leading them to craft a sound that’s both euphoric and deeply emotive. Their breakout track, “Eye of Horus,” released in 2003, garnered support from top DJs and marked their entry into the global trance community.
Aly & Fila’s discography is a testament to their passion and dedication. Albums like Rising Sun (2010), Quiet Storm (2013), and It’s All About The Melody (2019) showcase their ability to blend traditional trance elements with modern production techniques. Their collaborations have produced timeless tracks such as “We Control the Sunlight” with Jwaydan, which was named “Tune of the Year” on Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance radio show in 2011. Beyond producing music, they’ve also established their own record label, Future Sound of Egypt (FSOE), promoting both established and emerging trance artists.
While both members continue to produce music together, only Fadi currently tours, as Aly suffered a severe ear injury during a performance and was advised to avoid loud music to prevent further damage.
